"Flowers", also called "lads", is a certain type of folk song prevailing in the region of Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, and Sinkiang. It is a kind of high-toned folk song in nature. In the interactive singing of "flower", the men call the women "flowers", and the women call "lad" back. Those nicknames gradually deduct to the name of the folk songs, thus they are called as "flowers" in general.
