Light Rock Band Zero

The drug scandal involving Chinese pop singer Sha Baoliang and light rock band Zero has escalated with two members of Zero quitting the band.

Guitarist Da Mao and keyboard player Chao Luomeng announced their decision to quit the 5-member band at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon.

The two issued a statement saying they were arrested by police last Friday in a night club in east China's Qingdao city after their red wine was found to contain headshaking pills.

The two took drug tests and Chao Luomeng's urine sample came back positive.

The statement says in order to maintain the good and healthy image of the band, the two decided to quit.

The latest drug scandal by Chinese entertainers is becoming more complicated by the day.

Sha Baoliang and his record company have called on the police to make public the results of his drug test and have also threatened several media outlets with legal proceedings over what they claim are slanderous reports.
