很难想象，一座城市，若没有湖泊，会是怎样一番景象？

湖是城市的眼睛。即日起，宁夏日报报业集团推出全英文系列视频报道《银川的湖》，用文字、图片和视频带您走近银川的湖泊湿地，看湖光水色，听蛙鸣鸟啼，品湖城生活，带您领略水的万种风情，湖的千姿百态，城的日新月异。

湖城银川，享湖之美。

　　很难想象，一座城市，若没有湖泊，会是怎样一番景象？

　　It is hard to envision that a city with no presence of a lake would emerge with what kind of landscape？

　　那便看不到草长莺飞时、展翅掠过水面的惊鸿一瞥，垂柳依依处、叩响涟漪点点的缱绻轻柔；

　　Then you would not see the grass sprouts out of the earth and the birds spread their wings across the water，the weeping willows are leaning on and the ripples are touched gently；

　　那便闻不到混合了水草潮湿的淡咸、泥土芬芳的清甜、荷花莲叶的清香等诸般怡人味道；

　　Then you would not smell the light and salty mixed with the moisture of water grass，the sweet smell of earth，the fragrance of lotus leaves，and so on.

　　那便听不到群鸟归巢处时断时续的喃喃细语，虫鸣蛙叫时此起彼伏的小小热闹；

　　Then you would not hear the intermittent murmurs of birds returning to the nest，and the subtle sounds emitted by insects and frogs.　

　　那便感觉不到“清风徐来、水波不兴”“耳得之而为声、目遇之而成色”的旷达、爽朗和通透。

　　Then you would not feel the openness，brightness and transparency of "There was a fresh，gentle breeze，but the water was unruffled" and "These views serve as music to our ears，as colour to our eyes".

湖光水色，乐享其间。

　　没有湖，这座钢筋水泥结构的城市恐怕要多出三分僵化、五分生硬、七分呆板和十分寂寞了。

　　The　absence　of　the　lake　would　result　in　a　city　made　of　concrete　and　steel　that　is　inflexible，rigid　and　isolated.

　　湖带给人们的，不只是空气的润泽、植被的滋养、鱼鸟的住所，更有灵动且深沉的闪烁，妩媚且含蓄的娇羞，平静且内敛的温柔。

　　The　presence　of　the　lake　not　only　provides　moisture　to　the　air，nourishment　to　vegetation，and　habitats　for　fish　and　birds，but　adds　an　intelligent　and　profound　shimmer，a　charming　and　subtle　shyness，as　well　as　a　serene　and　introverted　tenderness.

　　湖，是一座城市的眼睛。

　　Lakes　are　eyes　of　a　city.

有湖点缀，方显城市之柔美。

　　她让城市眉清目秀，顾盼生姿。

　　She　graces　the　city　with　her　delicate　and　alluring　presence.　

　　杨柳岸畔的丝丝绿绦，是不是轻轻涂上的淡淡眼影；

　　The　silken　green　threads　along　the　willow-lined　bank，could　they　be　lightly　brushed　on　with　a　hint　of　eye　shadow；

　　清波漾出的粼粼波光，是不是眼波流转的似水柔情；

　　The　shimmering　ripples　on　the　clear　water，could　they　be　the　watery　tenderness　of　a　gaze；

　　红荷花碧莲叶铺开的，是不是如“瞳仁”般的“黑白”分明。

　　The　spreading　red　lotus　flowers　and　verdurous　lotus　leaves，could　they　be　as　distinct　as　a　'black　and　white'　pupil.

　　突然间发现，“湖”这个字，造得如此美。

　　Suddenly，you　realize　how　beautifully　the　character　‘湖’　is　designed.　

　　从水而傍月，处湖城，依湖居，左手可拢一湾水光，右手堪捧三分月色，有湖点睛的这座城，让我如何不想她？

　　From　the　water，beside　the　moon，within　the　city　by　the　lake，one　can　hold　the　splendor　of　the　water　in　one　hand　and　the　moon's　charm　in　the　other.　How　can　I　not　be　captivated　by　this　city　that　is　accentuated　by　its　lakes？

湖在城中，城在湖中。
